Mara Jensen
Founder, Reformer lead

Mara founded Corely after ten years teaching classical Pilates. She leads the reformer programme and trains every new instructor.
She came to Pilates the way a lot of teachers do, through an injury that would not resolve. A physiotherapist sent her to a studio in Rotterdam, she went twice a week for a year, and by the end of it she was more interested in teaching than in her old job. She qualified in the classical method, then spent several years working alongside physiotherapists, which is where she learned to read a body quickly and to stop pushing when something is not right.
Her teaching is precise and unhurried. She will take a whole class to fix how you set your feet on the footbar, and you will feel the difference for months afterwards. New instructors here spend six months on her mentoring programme before they take a class alone.
She teaches Reformer Foundations most weekday mornings and covers Sculpt on Thursdays. Outside the studio she rows, badly and happily, on the Amstel.
