Mat Flow
50 min

A flowing sequence of classical mat exercises. Expect breath, control and a strong finish. No machine, no springs, nothing to hide behind, which is exactly why it is harder than it looks.
What a class looks like
We start on the back with breathing and pelvic work, move through the classical order of the mat repertoire, and finish standing. The sequence stays broadly the same from week to week on purpose. Repetition is what lets you feel the difference between the version you did in March and the version you are doing now.
Small props come out most weeks: a ring, a soft ball, a light band. They are there to give you something to press into so you can find a muscle rather than guess at it.
Who it is for
Everyone. Beginners get a slower option for every exercise and experienced members get a harder one, often at the same moment. If you already train on the reformer, mat work is where the gaps show up, which makes it a useful second class in your week.
What to bring
Mats, props and everything else are here. Bare feet or grippy socks, and something to move in. A small towel if you run warm.
Good to know
Mat Flow is the class most people find hardest to rate after one visit, because the effort is internal and there is no equipment telling you how much you did. Give it three weeks before you decide.
